Austrade Graduates Visit the Australian Centre for Robotics

On 15 September, the Faculty of Engineering welcomed the Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s (Austrade) 2026 graduate cohort for an introduction to the people, facilities and technologies shaping Australia’s innovation future.

The visit showcased how research translates into industry collaboration and real-world impact. Graduates met researchers and partnership leaders from the Australian Centre for Robotics, Sydney Manufacturing Hub, Sustainability, AI and Life Sciences Collaborative Network, Sydney Research Cloud, and the Faculty’s Partnerships team.

The day also provided an opportunity for discussion, with Austrade graduates sharing perspectives from across trade, investment and international engagement, highlighting opportunities to connect Australian research and technology with global markets.

Austrade Graduate Manager Scott Middlebrook thanked the Faculty team for the insights shared throughout the day and highlighted the “truly fascinating” innovation on display. Feedback from the cohort was equally positive, with one graduate’s visit notes receiving praise for the “brilliant insights” provided.
