  • Emili Hernandez

    Emesent

    Emili Hernandez is a Solution Architect at Emesent with more than 20 years of experience developing autonomous systems across underwater, ground, and aerial robotics. He focuses on turning advanced research in robotic autonomy into robust, deployable products that improve and automate data capture for underground mining and asset inspection. Emili holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Girona, Spain, and has previously held several research roles at CSIRO’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group in Australia.

  • Alex Shapilsky

    Group Executive, Cicada Innovations

    Alex is Group Executive – Deep Tech and Head of the National Space Industry Hub at Cicada Innovations. He leads commercialisation programs across critical sectors including aerospace & defence, climate & energy, food & agriculture, and advanced industry. With a background in mechatronics and a career spanning startups and corporates such as Jacobs and Macquarie Group, Alex brings broad experience across manufacturing, infrastructure, ICT, IoT, drones, and space. He has extensive advisory experience and a strong track record of helping deep tech businesses commercialise and grow, drawing on perspectives as a startup, seller, buyer, user, and investor.

    Australian Industries Group

    David is Ai Group’s Director of Emerging Industries and Innovation. David has been part of Australia’s Innovation Ecosystem for over twenty years and has worked at the executive level across multiple industries including large and small organisations to facilitate innovative solutions to complex and wicked problems.

    David has maximised opportunities for Australian industry in $88 billion dollars of major projects, delivered financial assistance of over $22 million dollars to innovative SME’s and pulled together over 150 commercially astute bleeding edge research/industry collaborations that have resulted in novel technology and jobs of the future.

    In his personal life, David is a crowdfunding tragic, thwarted blacksmith and doting dad to two Dachshund Jack Russell crosses.

  • Lashika Medagoda

    Abyss Solutions Pty Ltd

    Lashika is a robotics researcher and engineer with extensive expertise in navigation, sensor fusion, robotics, and scientific applications. Lashika’s research contribution includes developing novel navigation and environment estimation algorithms applied to real-world field data.
