Kavisha Vidanapathirana

Dr. Kavisha Vidanapathirana is a postdoctoral research fellow with the ARIAM Research Hub, supervised by Prof. Salah Sukkarieh at the Australian Centre for Robotics, University of Sydney. Kavisha received his BSc in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka, with First Class Honours. He completed his PhD in Computer Vision and Robotics at the Queensland University of Technology in collaboration with CSIRO Robotics. During his PhD, Kavisha worked at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning as a Research Intern, and subsequently, upon graduation, as a Research Assistant. Kavisha’s research interests include robotic vision and scene understanding. He has published several papers in leading journals, including IJRR and RA-L, and has presented at highly regarded conferences such as ICRA and 3DV. Kavisha joins our collaboration with Rijk Zwaan, and his research will focus on agricultural robotics for data-driven vegetable phenotyping.
